Four indian states Gujarat, Madhyapradesh, Maharashtra,
Rajasthan receive water and power Supply from dam.
Was laid out by Jawaharlal nehru 5 April 1961.
2000-2001 the project was revived but lower hight of 110 meters under
Direction of SC, which was increased in 2006 to 121.92 meters and 138.98 in 2017
